New Clean it Right Program Helps Tourism Businesses Build Customer Confidence

Thursday, July 9, 2020

The Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia (TIANS), in partnership with Tourism Nova Scotia, is offering a new training program that provides tourism businesses with clearly defined policies and procedures for cleaning and disinfecting their facilities.

As we adapt to the new normal with COVID-19, it is critical for tourism businesses to clearly demonstrate safety and cleanliness, so customers feel confident visiting your business. The new Clean it Right program is designed to help businesses increase safety for customers and staff and reassure customers that may be hesitant to travel so they feel comfortable to shop, stay, or dine with you.

With support from Tourism Nova Scotia, TIANS is providing online access to this program at no cost for the tourism, hospitality and retail industry for a limited time.  You can choose from one of three custom modules focused on the tourism sector: retail and similar operations; accommodations (hotels, motels and bed & breakfasts); and restaurants and food services.

Businesses who train all their cleaning staff are designated as a certified Clean it Right Businesses. Designated businesses receive a window decal and electronic logo for marketing to show the public they are committed to providing a clean and safe environment. The Clean it Right logo will be included in business listings on NovaScotia.com, and visitors to the site will be able to filter business listings to find certified Clean it Right Businesses.
