Tools to Help Your Business Get China-Ready

Monday, July 16, 2018

China is the world’s fastest growing, highest-spending international tourism market, and is a tremendous growth opportunity for Nova Scotia. The Canada-China Year of Tourism is helping to raise Chinese travellers’ interest in Canada and Nova Scotia.

One of the Government of Canada’s objectives for Canada-China Year of Tourism is to help businesses prepare to welcome a growing number of Chinese visitors.  In June, the federal government posted several new resources to help businesses attract and serve Chinese visitors, including China-readiness checklists.

Before making travel decisions, visitors from China often search for information on online travel platforms like TripAdvisor. Listing your business on online platforms is a great way to help you connect with Chinese travellers.

Many tourists from China also book trips through travel agencies or tour operators. If you’d like to learn more about working with the travel trade to attract visitors from China, check out the Travel Trade Readiness Program.

Are you already welcoming Chinese visitors?  The Government of Canada is interested in sharing examples of China-ready businesses so other operators can learn from your experiences. Tourism Nova Scotia would love to hear from you, too!  Tell us about your experiences welcoming visitors from China at tnscommunications@novascotia.ca.
